Quest Taupo Serviced Apartments

This was expensive and definitely not value for money. The reception area smelled strongly of stale smoke, and the person at the front desk wasn’t particularly friendly. We had a very disappointing two-night stay. The apartment was dated, with scuffed, peeling wallpaper, dirty carpets, and old, worn furniture. If we could’ve gotten out of our reservation, we’d have left to find somewhere else to stay.

A nice break, and the lake was just a two-minute walk away. The bed was really comfortable too. The apartment looked tired and could use a makeover soon. Some of the lounge curtains had come off their track, which looked terrible and not very professional.

There’s ample parking and the staff were friendly. Our apartment smelled a little musty, though not too badly, and the pool was very small, but a nice extra. It also offered the chance of lake views and was close to nearby restaurants.

This was my second stay. The rooms are nice, the location is great, and the price is good. The only downside is the washer-dryer in the units, which has already come up in a few reviews. It’s ancient, incredibly noisy, and takes almost four hours to finish a full wash and dry cycle.
