The price was fair, the location was good, and the place seemed tidy enough. We rented a room for five with our own toilet, and could cook our own food. There's a pool table for $2 a game and laundry if you need it. The only real downside was all the bugs flying around the room, which I think the light attracted. There was also a certain coming off the A/C, but it gradually disappeared.

In the busy city centre, this place still had a friendly, country-like feel, and the staff were nice. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and there were no signs of bedbugs. The one catch is you can't bring your own alcohol, and the pub closes at 9 pm, so you can't really get a beer there later.

We only stayed one night. The room was clean, the beds reasonably comfy, and the WiFi worked well. I liked the comfortable kitchen and main hall, but the cheap bar was the real draw. Beers were $4, and the wine was a bargain too. The Middle-earth themed cocktails tasted great. If you and a few friends want somewhere to drink cheaply, this is the spot.

Even though the pandemic hit this place hard, it was still a great place to stay when I was there. It's very central and handy for everything, and Kerry, the owner, was friendly and helpful. The room felt expensive for a backpackers, but it was very clean and in a hugely popular tourist spot. The backpackers was up for sale in Jan 2022.

There was a lovely view of the lake from the spacious room, and the place was cute and well laid out. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was excellent, and having a designated free parking spot was a big bonus. I'd definitely come back.
