Waitomo Orchard Estate B&B

It’s a rural-feeling place among cattle, with seven rooms and the family living onsite. There’s no need to meet the owner at arrival: a board at the entrance tells you your room, and the key is in the door. We had the largest room, with our own ensuite and a separate entrance from the car park. It may originally have been a garage or granny flat. Inside, it was spacious, with a comfy bed, a short corridor to the bathroom vanity, and a separate door to the small shower and toilet. There was also a little bar fridge and sink. Breakfast was a free continental spread of cereal, yoghurts, and toast. It’s one option for a visit to the glow worm caves, and I’d go back.

Tucked away somewhere peaceful, this B&B was a restful place to sleep between our adventures. The rooms had what we needed for a comfortable stay, and the setting was lovely. It’s also just a short drive from the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, which makes it a handy base for exploring the area. Highly recommended if you want a quiet place to stay!

The Victorian-style decorations give the house a charming feel, and breakfast was simple but just right, with lovely fresh fruit and other nice options. The four rooms share a bathroom, but it was modern and clean, and we never had trouble getting access. We had a lovely stay at Waitomo Orchard B&B. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the beds were so comfortable we slept really well. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Waitomo area.

The owner spotted two of us walking along the road and stopped to ask where we were going and whether we needed a ride. We were actually headed to this hostel, though they didn’t know that. It’s a really peaceful place with great views, two lovely dogs, a great hot tub, top tier facilities, and free laundry. We thought it was incredible and would definitely recommend it.
