My husband and I still miss this place, even though this is a late review. The apartment was clean and spacious, with a full kitchen, dining table, plenty of parking, and a shared laundry machine. The power went out during our stay. The landlord kindly set up a cooking area in his own yard so guests could at least boil water for tea. The lights and power returned soon after, but I’ve kept the candles he gave us as a reminder of his kindness.

Sarah and Trev made us feel welcome. The rooms were lovely and homely, with really comfortable beds and high-pressure showers. We also had a lovely view of the baby lambs from outside the room. 10/10, recommend!

The surroundings were lovely, especially with sheep nearby, and the people running the place were very nice. Since it was a studio and I was there with my parents, I had to sleep in the second room with them. That wouldn’t be an issue for a couple or someone travelling alone. Still, it’s a great place, and I’d recommend it to anyone staying in Owaka.

There isn’t much to do in town, but this was a good rest stop for exploring the Catilins area. The price was very reasonable for what we got: clean rooms with a stovetop and oven, free Wi-Fi at a good speed, and a helpful, friendly hotel manager. I stayed here with my in-laws.

The staff gave us a lovely welcome, and the place was clean and tidy. It’s great value for money, and I’d highly recommend staying here. The young woman at the local pub was also a real asset to the town, very chatty and helpful.
