Aloha Seaview Resort Motel

The location is good, but compared with other places at the same price, this was disappointing. The photos don’t show the actual room standard. The hot and cold taps were reversed, the curtains were held up with safety pins, and parking was terrible. The pool was green, and the filter wasn’t on while people were swimming. I hate leaving a negative review, but people should know what to expect. It was cheap, but the quality wasn’t there. Be warned.

The views were great, and the staff were friendly, but the language barrier caused problems with my booking. I was put in the wrong room instead of the deluxe one I’d paid for. Room 8 was quite dirty on the floors and walls, though I did like that it was the most secluded room in the complex. The games room could use some care, even just a paint job. It’s one of those motels where you shouldn’t expect any kind of luxury.

We came back because we’d had a great stay here in 2022, but this time the place badly needed attention. The spa pool was murky green, and the rooms were filthy, with dusty cobwebs hanging from the bedroom and living room/kitchen ceilings. The room was so dusty I couldn’t sleep. The ranch slider was very hard to open and close, and the small shower curtain didn’t cover the area properly, so water sprayed onto the floor by the bathroom door and onto the vanity. There were badly patched holes on the back of the bathroom door, and water damage meant it wouldn’t close. At check-in, the receptionist told us to put our room number card in the box for room service. We did that around 10 a.m. because we’d be out most of the day, but there’d been no service when we got back at about 9 p.m. For four people and two nights, we were given just one small toilet roll. The room bin was overflowing, and we couldn’t take the rubbish to the hotel bins outside because they were all padlocked. Only two of the stove’s four elements worked, and one of those had a broken thermostat and stayed on HIGH. There was also a strange wardrobe in the living room, just a dirty cupboard with cut-off pipes sticking out of the walls. Maybe there are new owners, because the place has gone downhill since our last visit.

We stayed from 25-27 October 2025. After reading older reviews, I thought things might have improved, but the photos can be deceiving. We booked for five adults and arrived to check in at 2:15. The room wasn’t ready, and we were told to wait an hour. It was set up for only four, so staff had to come back and make up a very hard sofa bed for the fifth person. There was black mould on the curtains in one bedroom and stains on the shower paint. The wooden floor in front of the shower, under the vinyl, was rotten and soft, and felt like we could fall through to the level below. The suite had no air conditioning, just old fans. One had no cover, which didn’t feel safe around kids, and the other didn’t work properly. The room got hot and bright because the balcony curtains didn’t cover the upper window panes. We had to buy dishwashing liquid and toilet paper at the supermarket. There was just one roll and nothing for washing dishes, and the office wasn’t always open. The chipped cups and the pots and pans were in poor shape too. The garden was well maintained, but there’s no lift to the second floor, making heavy bags a real pain to carry upstairs. It isn’t wheelchair friendly.
