We stayed in the two-bedroom cottage and loved the views from the deck. There’s a lovely little bush path straight off it, and the walk into Paihia takes less than ten minutes. Our host was welcoming and friendly. We’d definitely come back.

There’s lots of room throughout this well kept apartment, with lovely bedding and a well equipped kitchen. Most of the front facing rooms have great views. It could sleep seven or eight, but with four adults we found sharing one toilet pretty awkward. An extra bathroom would help. Even with that drawback, I’d highly recommend this hillside gem.

The hosts were friendly, and the location, views and clean linen were all good. But ants got into our food and the shower had no pressure. We were told there was SKY, but it had been switched off for winter. During the school holidays, the grandchildren upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants, which made it hard to get our baby to sleep.

John was a great host, with helpful local tips about things to see and do. The place was spacious, tidy and clean, with lovely views and close to town. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

John made everything easy and comfortable for us. He’s a really good guy, and cares about your experience, so he’s great to ask for advice on what to do. The place was clean, comfortable and had all the everyday comforts thought through. I’d book again in a heartbeat next time I’m here.
