That washing machine in the bathroom was a real bonus after being on the road, and they even supplied washing powder. We also had daily servicing and a balcony with a BBQ, perfect for enjoying the view. From the balcony, we looked out over the Bay, and the beach was just across the road. The ground floor apartment (no.3) felt homely, with a comfortable bed and a kitchen stocked with all the appliances we could ask for. We stayed five nights and used the second bedroom, which had bunks, for our luggage. It’s an older style and a little dated, but it was very clean and comfortable. There’s no air con, though November wasn’t hot enough for that to bother us. The doors and windows opened wide to let in the sea breeze. The manager was informative and helped us book a boat trip to the Hole in the Rock. We also took the vehicle ferry across to Russell. Our stay in Paihia was fantastic, and this was a great base to come home to.

We went away for a friend’s 40th and a weekend with Mum, and had the absolute best stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the shower pressure was amazing. The staff were so friendly and always happy to help. We were so comfortable there that we didn’t even feel like going out. We’ll definitely be back!

The team were very friendly, and the apartment was spacious, quiet, clean, and had a great balcony with awesome ocean views. Getting up the driveway and walkway is very steep, though. The two queen bed apartment had just one combined toilet and shower, and even after a basic renovation it still felt older. There’s no air conditioning, and there are other places that are more central. Be careful with the clothes washers and dryers.
