David and Debbie worked tirelessly to keep everything clean and tidy and make sure everyone was looked after, even during a tropical cyclone. The rooms were excellent and easily fit our family of five. The pool and spa were great too. It’s in a perfect spot, with the beach right across the road and shops a two-minute walk away.

We had a great stay at Anchorage Motel in Paihia. Our room was very clean and spacious, with everything we needed to be comfortable. It’s just a short walk to the town centre and Ferry, so it was easy to enjoy everything this beautiful place has to offer. Highly recommend.

The rooms are poky and the bathroom feels grimy. Even after a shower, everything still feels gritty. The shower grout was dirty and there was no water pressure. The beds were uncomfortable, and having the toilet right beside the kitchen was gross. The pool was cold despite being advertised as heated, and with so many people using the spa, it was filthy. The toiletries were yuck too. This place is horrible, and I’m never going back. Don’t stay if you want nice accommodation.

We fell in love with Paihia and Anchorage Motel, and we’ll definitely be back. Dave and Deb were a delight to deal with even before check-in. They were so helpful and accommodating when we changed the booking to arrive earlier, then added another night because we liked the place so much. The room was lovely and had everything we needed. The shower pressure was the best we’ve had in any hotel, a real treat after long days exploring. The pool and spa were immaculate, and you can’t beat the location, right across from the water with spectacular views. We’ve spent three weeks travelling from Australia and stayed in all sorts of places. Anchorage Motel was easily the best.
