Our family had a great stay. The apartments and the complex were very clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the kitchens had plenty stocked for making meals. The pool is beautiful, the beach is just across the street, and shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. Lovely staff too.

The apartment was roomy, had a lovely waterfront outlook, and the staff were great. But at NZ $480 a night for two people, I expected decent shampoo and conditioner, plus milk in the fridge. There was only a cheap shampoo in the shower, no body wash or other toiletries, and just one tiny sachet of long-life milk. After hiking, I’d really been looking forward to a proper shower, so that was a letdown.

Moana rentals is right across from the resort, with plenty of choices including stand-up paddleboards and single or double kayaks. The beach is just opposite, and town is an easy short walk with lots of places to eat. Our room was a good size, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed.

We spent four nights here and enjoyed the stay. There’s an infinity-style pool and secure parking accessed with a key fob. The apartments are individually owned, so furnishings and sizes differ, though the facilities are much the same. Our kitchen had an oven, hob, microwave, large fridge-freezer, sink disposal, pull-out dishwasher, kettle, toaster, washing machine and dryer. The apartment was serviced every two days, and recycling and rubbish bins are in the basement, reached by lift.

We had a very comfortable room, and reception gave us a fantastic welcome. The full kitchen was handy, and the bed was extremely comfortable. From the balcony we could see the ocean and the pool area. We’d definitely recommend the Edgewater Palms.
