Waitangi Beach House

We stayed for a few nights with friends, including someone who’d been here a few times before. The unit’s location was a 10/10, with the supermarket close by and within walking distance. It was tidy and clean overall, but there was hair on the dressing table and cobwebs on the outdoor seats and table. The unit had no smoke detector, and the bathroom has no fan or window to open. It’s small and cramped, which could be difficult for a larger person, and shower water gets onto the window sill. The kitchen had basic utilities, but we couldn’t find a chopping board, oven tray, sponge or cloth for cleaning the bench. There weren’t enough tea towels for our few days, and no extra rubbish bags. The sliding balcony door was a bit loose, and the bathroom door needs some work. A little maintenance around the unit would help. It’s suitable for a small family, and the beach is walkable, though I wouldn’t recommend that spot for swimming. Treaty of Waitangi, track walks and the golf course are also within walking distance. You’ll need a car to get to the eateries, unless you’re up for an approximate 20-30 minute walk.
