After a Tangi - Funeral, I wanted a quiet room for one night to relax. I decided to stay a couple more nights, and went to book them after breakfast. At reception, the Lady accused me of disrupting things, playing loud music and having friends arrive early in the morning. None of that was true, and being falsely accused was absurd. She was rude and obnoxious, and not at all good at her job. I was already dealing with the death of a family member from Cancer, so her insensitive treatment was especially upsetting. She should be compensated.

We barely slept. Party music carried on until 3am, and we could hear a couple next door arguing as well as another man sneezing early in the morning. The room heater didn't work, so staff brought an electric one, but it took ages to warm the room. The electric blankets were slow, too. For $140 a night, I expected better. The property needs insulation, soundproofing and a bathroom ventilation fan. At least the shower was hot and had good pressure. I stayed on a Saturday in winter 2025.

A typical NZ motel, close to town. The rooms are a bit dated and small, but clean and tidy. Nothing to complain about.

Right in town, and the rooms were very clean. The car park is a little tight, though our Ranger fitted easily enough.

I had a good stay in a basic studio for two nights. It had everything I needed, and the wifi was awesome. You can hear traffic, so I left the fan on to cover the noise and slept well. This central motel was the best fit for me, and the room would work well as a base for day trips. Thank you!
