We spent two nights here. There was good parking, and it stayed quiet despite being on the main road. The room was clean and well appointed but needed a spruce up. There’s no cooking setup, just a jug, toaster and microwave, and the crockery was replaced daily. The location was good, with a shopping mall nearby. Reception didn’t feel very welcoming, and I got three calls on arrival day asking what time we’d be getting there.

The place is right on the main road through town, which has its pros and cons. My room was clean but dark and hadn’t been renovated recently. The other rooms seem brighter, with large sliding doors. The person at reception was unfriendly and complained that I was “early”, even though it was well past check-in time.

There was plenty of safe, inviting space in the backyard for the kids to play. My room was warm and cozy, and the spa was divine. I had everything I needed for the weekend. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the gentleman in the office made sure I and all the other guests were looked after. I’ll definitely come back.

The family one-bedroom room worked perfectly for our group of four, though it sleeps five, and the kitchenette had everything we needed. We loved the bubble spa baths, and the shower had excellent pressure, almost like a little massage. The outdoor seating area was nice, and it’s an easy walk to the train station, a supermarket and the fish n chip/Chinese takeaway. We could hear the family upstairs pacing around one night because the rooms aren’t very soundproof, though the other two nights were fine. We were mindful of our own noise too, but we always bring earplugs, so it was okay. The office manager had a dry sense of humour, was always smiling and helpful. We’re looking forward to coming back.

You can hear ordinary conversations from the neighboring rooms, downstairs, and even apartments over the fence, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The rooms are adequate and the service is good, with amenities close by. There's no air-conditioning, and the ceiling fan offers little relief.
