The breakfast add-on was well worth it, and I found the bath relaxing. I stayed in a three-person dorm, where the beds were great and the service was awesome. The hostel owner was lovely and made me feel welcome and at home. Everything matched what the website said: the kitchen was fully stocked and there were lots of things to keep yourself occupied. The friendly, lively atmosphere made it easy to connect with other guests. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Picton.

We’ve already been recommending Jugglers Rest to people we meet on our travels, and would love to return someday. Nikki was a wonderful host, sharing local tips and going out of her way to help us. We really enjoyed eating some of the garden vegetables. The garden has carefully made little spots and hammocks, and the living room is full of interesting local crafts and circus gear you can use. It was a relaxing stay.

The bed was the most comfortable one we’d slept in on our travels around NZ, and our one-night stay was fantastic. It’s a small, homely hostel with a garden and a relaxed feel. Nikki can make you eggs, coffee, and bread with jam for breakfast for $10 per person. Highly recommend it.

Nikki was an awesome host during our lovely few days at Jugglers Rest. The rooms are comfortable, and we even had knitted slippers to wear around the hostel. The hammocks in the garden are a great spot to spend a quiet afternoon. Highly recommend!

After five months travelling around New Zealand, this is my favourite hostel so far. It’s a unique place in a renovated heritage home, and Nikki, the owner, was lovely. She welcomed us to help ourselves to fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden. There’s also a huge bath if you fancy a soak. It feels like a cosy home away from home.
