DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown

The room had what we needed and a beautiful lake view, but the furniture and carpet were worn. There were scratches on the walls, rips in the carpet, and one carpet nail was sticking out. The bathroom needs attention too. Its sliding entrance door has a gap, which gives little to no privacy, and I’ve seen that design at other Hiltons as well. We had no hot water on two of our four nights, so those showers were freezing. Other reviews seem to mention this too. There was grime in the shower, though housekeeping may have missed it. To the hotel’s credit, they offered compensation and said they’d look into the hot water issue. The Hilton DoubleTree Queenstown is a little tired and lacks personality, but meets the standards it sets. It’s a good option for quieter lakeside accommodation. The Hilton “village” is clean, safe, and well lit, with a lovely lakefront walk. It’s handy for the airport and Frankton’s shopping centre, though allow extra time for dinner reservations in town. Thanks to the team at the Hilton DoubleTree Hilton for looking after us.

We ended up adding another night to our trip, just because we were so touched by the hospitality here. We’d planned to leave Queenstown on the 27th, but stayed longer to spend more time at this wonderful hotel. My partner and I were here for two nights starting May 25th for our anniversary. We travel a lot and have never met staff so genuinely kind and friendly, even at the most expensive luxury hotels. Radinka greeted us with the warmest smile each evening when we went out and made sure we had what we needed. On a rainy day, she offered an umbrella before we even asked. Hayat also took such good care of our anniversary and made the celebration feel perfect. Thank you again 😍

Great value for the money, especially with the water taxi so close by. The kitchenette is a good option too. We had an amazing time, and Aldrich made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the stay. Vaibhav also left chocolate bars and balloons for my birthday, which I really appreciated. Definitely coming back!

Melissa went above and beyond with wine and chocolate for a special occasion and my first trip to New Zealand. Phyo made check-in easy and gave us phenomenal recommendations. The staff at Doubletree by Hilton hotel Queenstown treated us in a truly world-class way. Excellent service and a really great experience.
