Earnslaw Lodge

We booked directly and found the staff friendly and good at communicating. Our lake-view kitchenette room was large, and the beds were very comfortable. The motel is dated, especially the bathroom, but it was clean and good value. Just look at the view we woke up to every morning. The location is great for bus stops. We had a car, though, and parking is limited and can be difficult.

Our flight was delayed, so we had to stay another night. Ed helped us with that, and the staff at Earnslaw lodge had a room available to book with the same view. The room was nice and had a kitchen. We also appreciated the lake view, how close it is to Queenstown, and the service.

Only a short 5-10 minute walk into the city centre, so the location was perfect, and the room had everything we needed. The internet was super slow, though, and we couldn’t cast to the TV. For a four-night stay, decent internet really matters. Otherwise, it was decent.

We weren’t at the lodge much during the day because we were out touring, so the room without a lake view was great value and just right for us. It had all the amenities we needed and was clean. The 15-20 minute walk to the centre takes you past lovely mountain and lake views. Booking.com and motel check-in both went smoothly. The Earnslaw team were lovely and accommodating when we arrived, and they responded well to questions by email beforehand. The motel is also directly across the road from the bus stop and pickup point for RealNZ tours at Copthorne Lakeview. We’d definitely book here again!
