Raetihi Lodge

Julie gave me one of the best massages I’ve had. We loved our two nights at Raetihi, with gorgeous scenery, plenty of things to do and delicious food. Liane, Alan and the team were kind and accommodating with the two young children in our group, and Eve cooked tasty meals for them. Thanks to everyone. We highly recommend the stay!

The location is superb, and the decor throughout is tasteful and high quality, with comfort details carefully taken care of. Everything was spotlessly clean, though the bathrooms are a bit pokey. Eve's astonishing range in the kitchen is matched by the hosts' thoughtful attention to every need. They’re perfectionists. From before arrival until the courteous, professional launch ride back to our vehicle in Havelock, the whole experience came close to perfection. You’d be hard pressed to find better in NZ. Look no further.

Raetihi is a special place in a truly beautiful setting, and the fine dining means nobody goes hungry. Alan and Liane made every request feel easy, with tiny details thought of all around the lodge. Book a massage with ‘magic hands Julie’, and maybe book two, because after one you’ll want another. If you haven’t booked a stay at Raetihi, you’re missing out.

Raetihi Lodge has quickly become one of our favourite places, even after all the travelling we’ve been lucky enough to do around the world. It was a perfect summer getaway: a stunning setting, everything immaculately kept, great food and drink, and lots to do, from cycling and kayaking to paddle boarding and exploring by land and sea. The night skies were glorious, and we even saw glow worms after dark. Thanks to Liane, Alan and the team for such generous hospitality. We couldn’t have had a better time and hope to see you again soon.
