We couldn't have asked for more from this peaceful, private cottage. The beautiful gardens and thoughtful touches from the fantastic hosts made it a lovely stay. We look forward to coming back.

Lee and Jaap are the best hosts. They made us feel welcome and checked that we had everything we needed. The cottage is in a quiet spot by the lake, and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I didn't want to leave and will be back as soon as I can. Thanks again for a fabulous stay.

The eggs from the resident chooks (not in the cottage!) and raspberries picked off the bushes were delicious. We had everything needed for a self-catered stay, and the hosts were friendly. It's a short walk to the lake, or a longer one to the first-class cafes and bakery at Ayrburn. A very pleasant few days in a cute cottage. Thank you!

It's been 11 years since we first started visiting, and the experience has only got better with age. The straw bale cottage is gorgeous and feels tranquil and secluded on the shores of Lake Hayes. The hosts are the nicest people, and we appreciated the lovely free-range eggs, cookies and complimentary kombucha on arrival.

I was disappointed. We booked well in advance, and our three days were confirmed as reserved. A few days later, we got an email saying they couldn't accommodate us because of overbooking.
