Reef Cottage Bed and Breakfast

We stayed in the Rose room between travelling from Nelson to Franz Glazier, after an amazing drive to get there. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in, and the bathroom and shower were 10/10. Breakfast was perfect, and the shared lounge and breakfast room were really lovely. They also own the cafe next door, with great coffee, sandwiches and the SCONES 😍

The Vault Room suited us perfectly, and its bathroom is the building’s original vault, complete with the vault door. The room was clean and tidy, and the hosts went out of their way to make our stay great. It’s well located and good value for Reefton. Thanks for having us, we’d recommend it.

We arrived on a chilly winter Friday night and the place was lovely and warm. The Queen room had a comfortable bed, an ensuite bath, and its own sitting room separate from the bedroom. The shower gel and shampoo smelled lovely, and left my hair soft and shiny. There was a generous continental breakfast waiting on Saturday, plus a communal eating area and enclosed garden. We were travelling with Ryder our Papillion, who was welcomed and happily settled on his sheepskin in front of the panel heater. Because we were towing a car trailer for the Globe Mine Hillclimb event, our vehicle was safely parked in the alley behind Reef Cottage. There’s plenty of room for large vehicles and a nice area to walk dogs. Our friends competing in the event parked on the main street without any trouble. An amazing place to stay, we’ll be back.

We had the Rose bedroom facing the main street, but it still felt private, cute and well insulated. The owners were friendly. The building has a charming vintage feel, decorated with taste and some very modern comforts. The shower was amazing.
