Breakfast had a good range of local condiments, and the town centre was only a short walk away. The old building felt homely, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for a shower over the bath. A great night.

The owner was super helpful and communicated well. We had a lovely room with good facilities, and breakfast was nice too. The old house sits by the river, just a three-minute walk from the centre.

The hosts put out a superb range of continental breakfast options, and the 10:30 checkout gave us time to relax before getting back on the road. We enjoyed sitting on the front patio in the sun with a coffee, watching the creek rapids across the road, until the rain spoiled it. It’s very close to the main centre of Reefton. This is private accommodation in the front section of someone’s house, so that’s something to be comfortable with. There’s a huge lounge and dining area with a TV, kitchenette and open fire, furnished in a really eclectic way. The bedroom has no TV, though that didn’t matter to us. Previous guests had left their Netflix account details, so free Netflix was available if we wanted it. The heating kept us warm on a cold, rainy night, once we got used to its creaking. We really enjoyed our stay.

The bedroom and living area suited us perfectly, and I loved seeing the history on the shelves. There was amazing attention to detail throughout. It’s a historical gem beside the river in Reefton, what a find! I’ll definitely recommend it to friends travelling around NZ.

Breakfast cereals and Netflix and other streaming services are included, all for a very reasonable price. There’s a large lounge with a microwave, jug and fridge, plus a decent-sized bedroom and bathroom. The place is lovely and comfortable, just over the river and an easy stroll to Reefton town centre. The woodfire and comfy bed are a nice extra. It’s well thought out and definitely worth a visit.
