Queen Street Studios

This was the worst customer experience I've ever had with an owner. I booked through Expedia, and he phoned two hours before my arrival to say my card hadn't been accepted. I was on the motorway travelling to the studio with a 90-year-old woman and couldn't pull over to give him another card. When I asked why he was only calling two hours beforehand, he lectured me about running a business, questioned why I hadn't booked direct, and said I wouldn't enjoy my stay. Anyone would think I was going there to spend time with him. I called back with a new card, but he carried on ranting. I told him I wasn't comfortable continuing the conversation and ended the call. He then cancelled my booking without notice and had Expedia inform me. Expedia said he had blacklisted me. Who wants to stay somewhere the owner is rude, disorganized, can't take feedback from a woman, and thinks he can ruin your stay? It was just “ick” and, quite frankly, scary.

The location is awesome, right in the middle of Richmond town centre. There are about 30 restaurants and cafes within a 150-metre walk, including two restaurants on site. The rooms and bathrooms are modern, the staff provide great service, and our room was serviced every day during our ten-day stay over New Year.

The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean, and you're right in the heart of Richmond township, close to shops and restaurants. Thanks to the lovely staff for fitting me in urgently for a few nights. I'd recommend this place 100 percent.

I've stayed here a couple of times over the past few years. My room was at the darker end, under the stairs, but it was warm, clean, and tidy. It had all the amenities, and was spotless whenever I returned each day. Lovely place, close to restaurants and within walking distance of shops and my venue. I'll be back.
