Amberly House Rotorua

After a long drive, Lynette's warm welcome was much appreciated. She'd been prompt with messages even before we arrived. The B&B is in a beautifully restored period house, clean, with safe and secure parking. We enjoyed relaxing in the pretty garden's shady spots after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast came with homemade treats, and there were goodies around to nibble on too. It felt like being at home, not just having somewhere to stay.

We stopped here as a last-minute choice to break up a long journey and were pleasantly surprised. Lynette met us graciously at the door, gave us a warm welcome, checked the details, including our Covid pass, and showed us where everything was. She said, “my home is your home.” The rooms were cosy and tidy, with thoughtful little extras. Separate family, living, and dining rooms, plus a “get to know your partner better room” and spacious outdoor and deck areas, gave the house a relaxed feel. Lynette is a great cook, as we found at the shared breakfast, and there were also help-yourself treats. There were seven guests while we were there, with no more than three sharing a bathroom. It's a six-minute drive or 35-minute walk from CBD Rotorua/Eat Street, and easy to reach by car, on foot, or by bike. Lynette made us feel so welcome. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. I'd highly recommend staying here.

I was visiting to take part in the Tarawera Miler and stayed here. It was one of the best places I've stayed anywhere in the world. Lynette was an amazing host, and I felt at home. Definitely recommend it!
