Cedarwood Lakeside Motel & Conference Venue

I especially loved our weekend away by the wharf, which was lovely, and I hope they fix the place up. There’s a lot of potential, and the view is fantastic. Our room seemed clean and wasn’t too bad, though the trout flies were everywhere. There was a warning about them on the wall, so that was okay. The pool and spa needed cleaning, and the playground needed fixing urgently. The outdoor wooden furniture had a lot of moss, and the whole place could use a proper clean, mowing, weeding, water blasting, and repairs to the playground. The photos were a little misleading.

The property looked neglected, with an overgrown lawn, and for the price the condition and treatment of guests were unacceptable. We arrived to an empty reception, then were told we had to pay another $49 because the listed prices were “incorrect”, even though we’d already paid for the room through Trip.com. The manager was rude and dismissive, refused to let us check in despite our valid booking confirmation, and said it “wasn’t his problem” when we asked for a refund so we could leave. He told us to go somewhere else if we didn’t like it, swore at us, and eventually called the police. A simple check-in turned into an upsetting, uncomfortable experience. I’d strongly advise staying elsewhere.

The room was very clean, just a little tired, like most of the place. My boy loved the pool, though nails are starting to come up on the deck and tables, so watch where you leave your towels. It’s a cheap and cheerful place, and you get what you pay for. I’d happily stay again if I were passing through.

We were five people, but there weren’t any extra sheets or blankets for the sofa bed, even though the motel is advertised for families. The ranch slider to the deck squeaked and seemed poorly maintained, and they hadn’t provided shampoo. Outside, the lawns were overgrown and the poolside looked shabby and uninviting. The property felt neglected and below basic standards. We found the stay extremely disappointing and wouldn’t recommend it.
