Manhattan Motel

The hosts made us feel at home with how warmly they welcomed us. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean, and the thermal pool was a lovely way to relax after sightseeing. Manhattan Motel is a peaceful spot right in the heart of Rotorua, so it was easy to get around to local attractions. We had a magnificent time and can't wait to come back.

The room was spacious, with plenty of cupboards and drawers, and the appliances were in good condition. Wi-Fi was strong, and the service was great. I arrived late and used the buzzer at the reception office. The motel may be older, but it's well kept.

I spent five nights here and got a friendly good morning every day when I headed out exploring. Fresh towels were left on the bed each day, and the coffee sachets were topped up. The owners are really friendly, and the customer service impressed me. It's in a handy spot near town, a few minutes' walk from Eat Street and the shopping centres.

Being so close to town was a plus, but I wouldn't stay here again. The place was very old and dated, and the beds were uncomfortable. The bathroom was old, the sink stained, and the toilet barely flushed. There was only half a roll of toilet paper out, while the rest was locked away like in a public toilet. Only two small elements on the stove worked, and there were no power points in the lounge or kitchen. There was no air conditioning, and all the heaters were running when we arrived, so the room was far too hot.
