The food in the restaurant was good, and the staff were well trained, courteous and helpful. We had a spacious suite with views across Rotorua township and glimpses of the lake. Although there was no club lounge, they recognised our status with a suite upgrade and a gold card for house drinks, soft drinks and barista coffee. That made a very positive difference to our stay. We booked two nights and would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had other commitments.

A peaceful, relaxing night, and the view was great. I loved having a Nespresso machine in the room. Check-in and check-out were easy using the kiosk. Parking wasn’t great unless you paid for valet.

The location was good and the staff were lovely. The bathroom layout was oddly lacking in privacy. It wasn’t enclosed, so everyone in the room could see you come out of the shower. The suite had the same issue: a lovely room with a beautiful big bath, but only a sheet curtain, leaving you exposed when you walked from the shower to the basin area. There was no complimentary water or treats.

The room had lovely views through its big windows, and the restaurant was a highlight. Every meal was delicious, even the Christmas Day buffet, which felt a la carte quality. We had a wonderful stay at the Pullman, thanks in large part to staff who were genuinely helpful and exceptional. It made our time so enjoyable.

Dinner was a real treat: I ordered the snapper followed by the caramel dessert, and both were so tasty. Our room was spacious and clean, with nice shampoo, conditioner and shower wash, and I liked finding fruit in the gym. The hotel is handy for both cafes and the lake. I'd definitely stay again.
