Solitaire Lodge

The drive from Rotorua is pretty winding and takes a bit, but it’s well worth it. Our rooms had lots of space and excellent views, and the food was superb. Wayne and the staff were excellent, especially Orlando. They also did a great job helping coordinate our plans and gave us wonderful recommendations.

We spent part of our honeymoon here, and I’d happily return in a heartbeat. The food was the best I had on the whole trip, the views were remarkable, and our room was lovely. The staff were incredible too, especially Donna. I really can’t say enough good things.

Lovely home-style meals, a great bar, and fabulous views.

Solitaire Lodge was the highlight of our trip so far. My wife and I stayed a few days for our honeymoon, and it had both the charm of a mom-and-pop bed and breakfast and the refinement of a super luxury hotel. We only wish we’d booked another day. Wayne and Ingrid helped us plan our daily activities, and Jack, Joy, Donna, and Rhys made each meal memorable with a different menu every day. Everyone on staff was warm, welcoming, and so helpful.
