The bed was comfortable, and the sheets and towels were clean. The pool, though, isn't maintained, and the motel itself is an old, run-down place that needs a major revamp. It seems to get by because Rotorua has so little accommodation available. The Hotel Inspector would have a field day here.

We could hear what sounded like other guests having a domestic argument at 2am. The city was booked out over a long weekend, and it felt as though guests were being put wherever there was space, including places also allocated for emergency housing. That was upsetting, and I was disappointed the owner was allowing local residents to stay and behave this way. It's a poor reflection on the city. The property is neglected and run down. Cleanliness, hygiene, and safety seemed nonexistent, and I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down. The rooms were oddly fitted out and had barely been cleaned. As things needed replacing, there seemed to be no thought put into it. The service was poor, and the cost wasn't justified. Avoid if you can.

The rooms were warm and cosy at night, and the beds were super comfortable. We booked rooms #1, #2, and #3, and they were very clean and had everything we needed. Shops were within easy walking distance. The rooms are a little dated, but we found the location really good. It's a family-run business, and the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The owner was also very accommodating to our needs. We were grateful. Thank you, Yu.
