City Lights Boutique Lodge

Grace and David were superb hosts, taking such good care of us and serving the best food. They also had plenty of information and recommendations for local sights and things to see. We stayed in the Kiwi room, with a spacious bath, private patio, and backyard where their lovely alpacas and ducks were. The living room is beautifully decorated, and the outside patio feels warm and inviting, with lots of seating and a jacuzzi. It’s an amazing lodge in Rotorua, and a great base for seeing the countryside and views around town. Highly recommended.

Angie and Leigh made our two days in Rotorua especially good with their valuable tips on when and where to see the sights. They’re warm, welcoming hosts, and the hospitality felt real. Each morning we had a delicious, healthy, filling homemade breakfast, a perfect start to sightseeing. The blueberry muffins and zucchini bread were comforting, and the plum jam, grapefruit marmalade, lemon curd, peanut butter, and muesli were all delicious. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and luxurious, and it felt like a home away from home. We’ll certainly stay here again when we visit Rotorua.

We only stayed one night, which was the main downside, and we’ll have to make up for that next time we visit Rotorua. City Lights Boutique Lodge has a lovely view of Rotorua, with the lake, city, and occasional geyser. Angie and Leigh were caring, friendly, and very welcoming, with lots of tips on what to do nearby. The Lodge is stylish, modern, and clean inside and out, and our Kiwi room was just the right size with the amenities we needed. Breakfast had plenty of good choices. The cute Alpacas and charming cat, Oscar, added some comic relief. We couldn’t have asked for better service during our short stay.

The garden was beautiful, and sitting there with a sandwich was just perfect. We really liked the clean, nice apartment, especially the stunning terrace view. The host was super nice. We’d happily do it again.
