Regan House

Judith was such a friendly and thoughtful hostess. Our room was spotless, had everything we could think of, and came with a really comfortable bed. The house and garden are beautiful, and breakfast the next morning was amazing before we headed off on the Forgotten World Highway. We stayed for one night in February 2025. I’d recommend it to anyone passing through Stratford.

The hosts were so friendly and charming, and we enjoyed chatting with them. They even drew the curtains and put the heater on while we were out at dinner, such a kind, homely touch. The room was beautiful with lots of lovely details, and the gardens are gorgeous. Breakfast was generous and super fresh. We’d definitely come again, highly recommended.

Judith welcomed us warmly after a very wet and windy drive. This lovely heritage style home has spacious, well appointed ground floor rooms, with easy nearby parking. Ours had a very comfortable bed with good linen, plus a fridge, plates, and cutlery for snacks. There’s also a pretty verandah outside the room if the weather allows. Breakfast was delicious despite a mix-up with the serving time, and Judith was generous with her time. We had an interesting chat. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Regan House on two separate nights, either side of a great bushwalk on Mt Taranaki. Judith and Wayne are charming hosts, and we loved talking with them over a tasty breakfast. The room was delightful and the gardens brilliant. They kindly kept some of our luggage while we hiked, and even did our laundry, which we hadn’t expected at all. I’d really recommend Regan House for a relaxing stay.
