We wanted somewhere different for our wedding anniversary and found this lovely heritage house B&B online. Iain and Penny greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room. Everything was clean and tidy, and we couldn’t fault the facilities. Breakfast was a nice continental spread each day, available whenever we made it downstairs. The shared lounge was a relaxing place to unwind with a glass of wine in the evening, sometimes with the house cat keeping us company. Iain also told us about the house’s history and showed us two amazing kauri trees in the back yard. Both hosts gave us helpful suggestions for great restaurants. We highly recommend staying here and will be back for our next anniversary, or maybe sooner. Bernie & Barb.

For what we paid, this B&B wasn’t worth it. The breakfast was just bread and butter, some fruit, and tea or coffee. It’s an old house where the owner offers B&B, not a four-star hotel. At that price we could have booked a four-star room with proper hotel-made beds and facilities.

The owners were kind, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Breakfast is ready even if you come down a little late, which I appreciated. There are famous mountains and the sea nearby, so sightseeing is convenient. I had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend staying here in summer.

Penny was so welcoming during my two-night stay on an impromptu trip to Tauranga. The shared space was comfortable, especially with the fires on, and the resident kitty was a lovely surprise. My room was spacious, very comfortable and clean, with a great view. Downtown is only a quick walk away. Highly recommended, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

We had a lovely stay, with a large, luxurious and comfortable room, a private ensuite, and a beautiful lake view and lounging area. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and their gorgeous little kitty happily let me cuddle her. There was a continental breakfast, and the shared guest area was lovely too. I highly recommend it.
