The grounds look like a botanical garden, and the lake view, with seaplanes tied up at their moorings and mountains across the way, was spectacular. Our enormous room looked out over the gardens and lake. It was immaculate, with a well-equipped kitchen we didn't use, and we loved the heated towel rack and plush towels. The bed and linens were so comfortable, the best sleep we had on this trip. The location was wonderful for our glow worm tour, and the warm, genuine service was great. About an hour after checkout, the hotel called to say housekeeping had found my Bose headset. Since we were too far away to turn around, she offered to mail it, and I picked it up at our hotel in Christchurch a few days later. Wonderful experience all around. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Right beside Lake Te Anau and an easy walk from town, this is a great spot to stay. The rooms are a good size, with big windows and a sliding glass door that give you lovely lake views. There's a kitchenette with coffee, a kettle, and a toaster for an easy breakfast before heading out on an excursion. Laundry facilities are available each afternoon. I'd definitely recommend staying here in Te Anau.

Kerri was fabulous at check-in, helping with our questions and suggesting restaurants and the movie. The information in the room notebooks was thorough too. Everything in our room looked brand new and was absolutely spotless, including the kitchenette and bathroom. It had lots of thoughtful extras, like a mini speaker, charging cord, iron, full-length mirror, well-equipped kitchen, huge fluffy towels, and a towel warmer. There's a free washer and pay dryers. We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful hotel, right on the lake in a quiet spot that's easy to walk from into town. The room felt like 5-star hotel quality, and the hospitality was amazing. One thing to know is there's no lobby, bar, or restaurant on site, though groceries and restaurants are nearby. They can provide continental breakfast or a cheese platter on request. We bought food at the store and made our own breakfast and snacks.

I'm not someone who usually writes reviews, but Radfords on the Lake left an impression. Keri was warm, friendly, and easy to talk to, with great suggestions for things to do around town. The motel was fresh, extremely clean, and comfortable. After more than a week staying at motels, I had my best night's sleep there and didn't want to leave the bed. But then you have that beautiful lake view to sit and look at. Thanks to the clever design, every room gets one. They've thought of everything, right down to the egg cups. Thanks to Keri and her team. I hope I get to stay again soon.

Kerri was incredibly friendly and took great care of us. Her recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing were spot on. The beds and pillows were more comfortable than a 5-star stay, and the generous room had every little thing you'd want for a short motel visit. A beautiful lakefront property with stunning views. Highly recommend Radfords on the Lake for the comfort, scenery, local tips, and warm hospitality.
