Asure Ashley Motor Lodge

The spa bath was a big hit with the four of us, especially the young family members. Everything was really clean, the beds were comfortable, and mySky meant I could watch the football. The kitchen had all we needed, with fruit bursts as a nice extra. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient.

Room 1 worked well for us, with easy parking and a simple check-in. It’s an apartment-style two-bedroom unit with a TV in each bedroom and another in the living area, where basic Sky channels were available. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the place was very clean. It’s nearest the highway, though the reception building sits between it and the road. We could hear trucks in the distance, but only muffled, and it wasn’t enough to disturb us. A great choice.

Naveen was understanding and flexible throughout our two-week stay after a fire, and arranged service and tidying whenever we asked. The house had enough parking, bedrooms, and beds for all of us. There were four of us, so having two bathrooms was handy. We also appreciated the roomy lounge, dining room, small kitchen with what we needed, and a sunroom with a bed and chair where we could relax and de-stress. I’d definitely recommend it.

We came to watch a rugby tournament at Fraser Park, just a five-minute drive away, and Ashley Motor Lodge made a great base. It’s on the main road, handy for getting around, but set back enough that we didn’t hear traffic. Upstairs guests were sometimes noisy, though it wasn’t a big issue. The place could suit sports teams or larger groups, with beds that can be split to sleep four per unit. My mum and I had a two-bedroom unit with king beds and TVs in both rooms, a roomy lounge, and a compact kitchen stocked with what we needed, even gladwrap. The spa bath felt great after the long trip down. Our unit was serviced daily during our three-night stay. The owners and staff were friendly and very attentive, which impressed me, and I’m hard to please, lol. Timaru was lovely, and if I get back I’d choose Ashley Motor Lodge again. It gives the ASURE brand a good name. Phone for the best deal :)
