This is our regular choice when one or both of us are travelling from the Wairarapa to Welly. It's right across from Trentham station, with a good restaurant next door. The rooms are comfortable, well maintained, peaceful and secure, and there's laundry on site. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff at the Totara Lodge felt extremely predatory. We stayed a couple of months ago and felt as though all of them were stalking us.

Clean, tidy, well-kept rooms and grounds, and a quiet location close to the train station. Bex, Charlie, Robyn and their team are amazing hosts. It's user-friendly and feels like a home away from home when you're on the road.

We've stayed here twice in the past year, and I highly recommend Totara Lodge. The two-bedroom units are amazing, with a queen and single upstairs, a queen downstairs, three TVs and everything else you could want. The rooms are immaculate and very well looked after. Laundry is cheap and convenient, and having the train station, pub and bottle store right next door makes the place really well located. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

The service really stood out, and the rooms were excellent too. Such an amazing place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it.
