Tasman Holiday Parks – Beachaven

The cabin was tidy and really nicely presented. It had everything we needed, including a kitchen, fridge/freezer, separate bedrooms, air-con and even a hair dryer. Such an awesome place to stay, exactly what we needed and much better than I expected. We’re really impressed.

We were there over Christmas and New Year, and the room smelled strongly of wet dog when we arrived. We had to go straight out and buy deodorisers just to make it bearable. The kitchen was short on basics: we were a family of four with only two plates, one spoon and no knives. We told reception, and they did restock it the day before we left. There weren’t enough rubbish bags or toilet paper, the water in the shower would suddenly turn boiling, and the water cylinder made loud noises all night. A terrible experience overall. We raised the issues with reception and were told about a refund or credit, but neither ever came through.

I booked through Booking.com and had no trouble locking in the dates, with one 2brm self contained unit and one Standard cabin. Five days later, I got an email saying the 2brm unit had been cancelled, though I hadn’t cancelled it. The Standard cabin booking was still there. When we arrived, staff said I’d booked two Standard cabins. I showed them my emails and Booking.com receipts, which clearly showed one self contained unit and one Standard cabin, but Reception had no answer and we were left confused. We had to pay extra. The booking was for 26th-28th, but I stayed just one night and went home the next day. The ceiling in my room was damaged inside and showed signs of an old leak. It smelled of pets and wasn’t very clean. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, and Tasman holiday park beachaven looks like a great environment to be part of. This wasn’t a personal attack on the business. Always room for improvement!! 🙏💫
