Set in native bush, this beautiful, well-appointed cottage feels idyllic and luxurious. Mandy goes above and beyond, providing the makings of a full English breakfast, home baking, fresh fruit, specialty bread, and even handmade Asian dumplings and vietnamese spring rolls at no extra cost. We'll be back!

That bathroom, whoa! Nightsky Cottage is nestled in the forest right beside the National Park, and it's been thoughtfully crafted for a restful, luxurious stay with sustainability in mind. Thank you, Elspeth and Carel, for this amazing opportunity. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Elsbeth was so helpful with our needs, including different dietary requirements, and had the fireplace ready to light when we arrived. Check-in was easy. I especially liked the little extras: board games, candles, torches beside the beds and bath salts. The cottage was very clean, neat and cozy, with everything we could think of and more. The kitchen was stocked for breakfast and other meals. My favorite things were the natural ingredient soaps and washes, the easy-to-follow recycling system and the fireplace. The bedrooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows, and each had an electric blanket that we appreciated on cold nights. Heaters throughout the cottage kept it comfortable as well. My friends and I stayed at Night Sky Cottage at the end of July and were blown away by the cottage and the service from Elsbeth and team. I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay around Mount Ruapehu.

A lovely spot for a romantic escape. The cottage is beautiful, with a log fire, twin baths and comfortable beds.

The weather was poor when we visited, so we couldn't see the mountain. We didn't mind at all because the cottage was so nice. A beautiful place to get away from it all.
