Being away for work for a couple of months has felt lonely, but Richard (the owner) has made it much easier to be away from home. The rooms are clean and nice, and the home-cooked meals are delicious. I really appreciate him going out of his way to make lunches I can take to work and accommodate me. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

We stayed on New Year's Day 2026, after arranging a very late booking and adding another room at the last minute. The management handled both requests without any trouble and were extremely polite. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and tidy, and the beds gave my family and me one of the best night's sleep we've had. Even the towels and face cloths were so soft, unlike the scratchy, dry ones I've come across elsewhere, including five-star places in major cities. I've stayed at other motels in Waipukurau before, but from now on I'll choose Fergusson's Motor Lodge. The setting is lovely, and the others I've tried don't compare. Thank you.

After a long day of disastrous travel, our room was just the cozy spot my friend and I needed. It was great, and Richard was fantastic, so helpful and kind to both of us.

The shower being over the spa bath made it hard for me to climb in and out, unfortunately. Still, my husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay. The room was very roomy and the service friendly. Some things you have to experience for yourself.

My car broke down, and Richard kindly fitted me in with a last-minute booking. He was really accommodating, and the room was clean and cozy.
