Arcadia Motel was one of the nicest places we stayed during our three weeks in NZ and Australia. We usually choose hotels in the States, but here we found many places are called motels, so don't let the name put you off. It was extremely clean and spacious. The owner, Wang, gave us a warm welcome and good ideas for things to do nearby. The laundry facilities and soft, plush towels were much appreciated. We didn't cook, but the kitchen looked fully equipped, including an electric stove and pots and pans. If you're passing through Nelson city, stay here.

We had a really pleasant stay at the Arcadia and would happily book again. The unit was exceptionally clean and serviced every day, and both the bed and the lounge sofa were super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool, and the beach was an easy 10-minute walk. The lovely hosts were very welcoming. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Our son’s race car needed fixing, and the owner even took care of it on site. He was an absolute legend, so helpful and accommodating, with nothing too much trouble. We’ll definitely be back!

The owners were thoughtful and attentive, sharing local suggestions and checking in halfway through to see if we needed anything. Our room was a good size, neat and tidy, and very comfortable. Great value for money. I’d recommend staying here.

After two weeks on the road, my sister and I were so glad to arrive here. The motel was very clean and convenient, and the staff were super friendly. The modern bathroom had great shower pressure, and the beds were comfy. Best of all was the laundry machine and tumbler, which were neat, clean and efficient. One of the best motels we stayed at on our road trip.
