I’ve stayed here a few times and have always had a good experience. Burwood is my first choice in Whanganui. Kelly is friendly and helpful, and this time we were lucky to get a complimentary room upgrade. The room had everything we needed, with a super comfortable bed, a strong shower and air conditioning that worked perfectly. It was clean and tidy, in a nice, quiet area, and close to town for a wander.

After a long day, the owner, or perhaps the owner, welcomed us so warmly. She kindly upgraded one of our rooms, giving our tired family plenty of space. The rooms were spotless, and we were given real milk for tea, which is rare these days.

The owner was the standout, so helpful and attentive that the customer service really impressed us. The rooms were clean and spacious enough, with daily housekeeping, and each unit had plenty of parking. The motel is set back from Victoria Avenue but still close enough to walk to cafes and shops, while staying in a quiet spot away from noisy roads. We only booked Burwood because so few places were available during the local festival weekend, but it turned out to be a great choice. Next time we’re in Whanganui, we won’t look elsewhere.

The management were excellent and very friendly, and the rooms were great. There was good parking and the location was great too. I highly recommend Burwood Motel. We stayed two nights.
