Aura Hotel

The hot shower had good pressure, which was the only plus. There was old cheese in the fridge, lip marks on the cups, and the floor was sticky underfoot. The blinds were broken and dusty, the lifts were dirty, and the hallways hadn’t been vacuumed or washed. No toilet roll holder or bedside lights, and no tea towel in the room or kitchen. The TV didn’t work. Noise behind A block, hammering, crashing and banging, kept me awake all night. The location is good, though it feels somewhat sleazy. I’d never return.

I was severely disappointed by the customer service and the way they handle third-party bookings. They charged whenever they pleased instead of following the booking’s clear instruction to pay on arrival. When I called to redirect the payment, they gave me a new price. There’s no reason to charge more for a booking that’s already been made with payment due on arrival. Maybe don’t book at all, since they may cancel your room :).

People fought and yelled in the hallways all night, and the owner did nothing. I woke up to a flooded room with my belongings soaked. When I went downstairs to ask for a refund, I got no goodwill gesture. The owner seems completely out of touch with customers and showed no consideration. The place was filthy, the kitchen dilapidated and the smell nauseating. Despite the hotel’s terrible condition, the owner wouldn’t offer any refunds. A disgrace. Honestly, avoid it at all costs; nobody should go there. The owner is a real jerk.

I checked out after just three hours because the room was really hot. The electric fan didn’t work, and the small stand heater I tried was broken too. The bedsheet was stained. There wasn’t a chair, stool or table where I could work on my laptop, and there was no phone line to call reception. I spoke with other people staying there and they had the same issue, no chairs or tables. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel with facilities and amenities this poor. Please don’t stay there if you don’t want to be disappointed. Star rating: ZERO.
