Boulcott Suites

From our experience, be careful if you’re considering Boulcott Suites in Wellington. We had a plumbing emergency after hours during our stay, and it took several hours to sort out. There’s no staffed service desk, so we had to call the Village group call centre, but they didn’t seem to think helping us was urgent. Eventually they sent out a mechanic for a plumbing problem. It’s taken us from January until March to try to get a response from this hotel group about our stay, with no luck so far. I feel compelled to warn others after such a torrid experience.

We were there over Christmas, and it was a real disappointment. The first night, the bed had the worst roll-together I’ve ever experienced, so we barely slept. They moved us to an apartment, where the bed was much newer and more comfortable, but the place still wasn’t somewhere I felt comfortable staying. It was a bit run down, and the chairs weren’t the sort you’d want to settle into with a book. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We asked for parking, as we’ve done before, but they told us just 90 minutes before arrival, after we’d driven down from Cambridge, that none was available. It felt like they’d left it so late to make it hard for us to rearrange our stay elsewhere. They also told us then that the EV charger was broken. We’d already passed the last fast charger where we could have made sure we had enough charge to get back out of Wellington. They could have told us when we booked. They said, “don’t worry, it will be fixed after the Christmas rush, so won’t affect future stays.” No need to worry, there won’t be any future stays from us. And the AC in the room wasn’t working either.

We had a great long weekend here in the North Executive Studio with my daughter. The location was excellent, and the room was clean and very quiet at night. Our flight gave us trouble, but customer service was really helpful. Five out of five.
