We found it peaceful despite being close to the motorway, and there’s loads of parking. After arriving from the ferry on a rainy Saturday afternoon, check-in was easy, polite and helpful. We’d booked beds for two adults and two children, and were happy with the room. They even let us choose between two. The motel is dated, but impeccably clean, with a lovely green outlook, a modernized bathroom and decent facilities. We had an evening drink at the bar and some yummy snacks. The service was laid back and came with a sense of humour. It’s super close to the ferry too.

We got off the ferry at 1 a.m. with our motor home, and parking in the powered site was easy, with lots of spaces. The shower was clean, and everything was neat and well managed. We’d booked at the last minute, around 9 p.m., but had already received clear parking instructions and simple directions for using the shower facilities. The woman at reception in the morning was friendly, helpful and nice. Thanks for all the help.

For $56, it really wasn’t worth it. The location was terrible, right by the highway, and the receptionist wasn’t very friendly. Hot water was limited too, because you have to press a button outside the toilet every five minutes to get it again. A very bad experience.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It’s basically a motel parking area rather than a pleasant campground, and the nightly price is the same as a proper holiday park without offering similar value. The toilets, showers and kitchen are all in one small cabin. Its facilities are old and poorly maintained, with very few toilet and shower stalls and just one small fridge. The showers are run-down with weak pressure, and when someone else is showering the water gets even weaker and turns cold. The dining room feels musty and the whole cabin is stuffy. It wasn’t very clean either. We stayed two nights, and it took more than 24 hours for someone to replace the bathroom toilet paper. The site is close to a main road, so there’s constant traffic noise, plus noise from airplanes.
