Easy to get around on foot, with shops and cafés nearby, and the area felt safe. A great rental for a longer stay, I’d recommend it to anyone looking for one.

The shower was barely usable: half the nozzles were blocked, and if you knocked the head it fell down and wouldn’t stay up. Only two lights worked, and the bathroom extractor fan was dead, so steam built up everywhere. Noise was the biggest problem. The bar downstairs has bands on Friday and Saturday, and it sounded like all the windows were open. Bring earplugs, you’ll need them. This was the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and not a great place to stay.

The fifth floor was quiet and cosy, and it was a cheap stay. I was there for three nights, though the room felt a bit small. The bathroom was okay, but the toilet seat needs updating. The fridge wouldn’t close because the freezer had about two inches of ice built up, and the oven was a mess.

It was clean and comfortable, and convenient for seeing Wellington. Cuba Mall and downtown are both easy to reach on foot. I stayed for a week and found the place okay, though the west side of the building can be a bit noisy.
