Mantra Central Wellington

For a week-long work trip, this place didn’t work well for business travel, and there are better options in the same price range. The location is great and the price decent. My room was large, clean, had a nice view, and a comfortable bed, and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. There are only a handful of rooms on each floor, so with a few changes and better wifi, this could be a really nice hotel. Right now, though, the wifi constantly lags and disconnects, especially in the mornings and evenings. The lighting is either harsh, like a police interrogation, or completely dark, with no dim setting. A couple of lamps would help. The rooms are dated, there’s no air conditioning, and the panel heaters feel risky to leave on overnight, so the room gets pretty cold. The bathroom fan is dirty, sounds like a jet engine, and opens to the outside, letting in cold and noise. The desk is in a wifi dead spot.
