We had a disappointing stay because the cleanliness really let the accommodation down, even though it has a lot of potential. The owner was very nice, showed us around, suggested nearby restaurants, and helped whenever we had questions. The place was spacious, with a terrace and parking. It seemed like only the bed linen had been changed. That was clean and smelled fresh, but the kitchen had been left as the previous guests used it, and there were crumbs on the floor and carpet. Wiping the kitchen counter left us with a dirty towel, and the shower looked so dirty we chose not to use it. We also had to kill cockroaches, which we're not used to, though we understand there may be more of them on the North Island. None of that was pleasant. We think the cleanliness could be much better, and hope this review leads to improvements because the owner is genuinely a nice person. Thank you.
