BBH organisation recommended this as budget accommodation that was meant to be clean. Booking a unit was difficult, and when we arrived, nobody was there to greet us. We waited about an hour before someone showed up. While we waited, some dirty, strange people were walking up and down the road. The accommodation itself felt grubby and damp, under big trees, and the man who let us in seemed a bit creepy. We weren't happy and left the next morning. I'm not sure how BBH chooses listings, but this didn't meet our expectations. Now we stay in places listed by the AA and pay a little more. You get what you pay for.

Maree is a caring, friendly and helpful host, the best landlord ever. This feels like a homestay, which suited me perfectly. If you’re looking for a commercial hotel, it may not be for you. I stayed in the double room and needed to keep quiet because the owner goes to work early, but that worked just fine for me. It’s a rural setting with just two units and the room in the house. Maree was at work when I arrived, so I waited about 20 minutes. The backpackers lodge is for young people. I was very sad to have to leave. Five stars for effort and location.
