Fort Street Hostel

We went to the sienna restaurant :) The atmosphere was great, and the staff were really friendly. We ordered pork belly tacos, beef cheek, and the beef burger, and everything tasted delicious. The burger and its sauce were my favourites, so good! We'd definitely recommend it.

The little practical touches made the stay feel well thought out: filtered water to refill a bottle, a low sensor light for nighttime bathroom trips, and a shelf in the shower. The room wasn’t large, but it had a small sitting area, a mini fridge, and a big window that brought in plenty of light. Everything, from the entrance and cafe through to the bedrooms and bathrooms, felt beautifully designed, like staying inside a work of art. Breakfast came with my rate, with three freshly made mains to choose from and a cold continental buffet. They catered for gluten free, and the smashed avo was delicious. Everyone I met on staff was friendly and happy to answer questions. It’s also only a five minute walk to the ferry building and waterfront. A wonderful place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

I needed somewhere to stay urgently in the middle of the night because of an emergency. The receptionist working around 2am on February 7th was exceptionally kind and accommodating, and made the whole process simple. I was in my room just minutes after arriving. The room itself was excellent, with a comfortable bed and all the essentials. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I’d highly recommend Tribe to anyone.

The location was really convenient, close to lovely Britomart, though there are a few less appealing businesses nearby, including a dodgy pub and a strip club. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the lobby and attached cafe are stylish, with amazing blended juices and plenty more on offer. My room and bed were comfortable, the rain shower was amazing, and everything was spotless. A great stay at a very high standard.
