Poripori Homestead

The freshly made bread was outstanding, and Frances and Julian were tremendous hosts. They were very accommodating with our group’s specific needs and made us feel welcome. The old homestead is gorgeous and has a lovely, homely feel.

We came during a busy period, but still had privacy and didn’t see any other guests, which was great. The Cottage has everything you need and feels like home. We felt relaxed there.

We found poripori homestead by chance and were so glad we did. It’s spacious, cozy and super clean. The owners are welcoming, easygoing and professional hosts. I’d highly recommend it for families or anyone wanting to get away for a few days.

We enjoyed it so much that we added two extra nights to our stay at Poripori Homestead. Julian and Frances were pleasant, accommodating and respectful hosts, and we’d definitely return and recommend the place to friends and family. Although it’s outside the main tourist area, it’s close to lots of places: 9 min to grocery stores and the shopping mall, an hour to Rotorua hot spring, 20 min to Tauranga beaches, 30 min to Hobbiton, and just 5 min to Marshall animal park and Mclaren falls. There’s plenty of room to walk around the property, which is peaceful, very clean and full of flowers, fruit trees and birds. Our eight year old loved exploring and patting their friendly dog, cat and sheep. The rooms were spacious and private, with adequate facilities, and each accommodation had its own fenced yard. Beds were comfortable and the bedding fresh and spotless. With birds chirping in the morning and so much quiet, we slept really well every night.
