We were stranded in Whangamata by a cyclone, with nowhere to stay, and were desperately calling places at 11:30 at night. The lovely hosts answered even though they were on holiday themselves, then quickly arranged a room for us. We were so grateful for their help. La Dolce Vita is amazing, and I can only imagine how relaxing it must be here in summer. Thank you for coming to our rescue!

We stayed at La Dolce for three nights over Anniversary weekend, starting Thursday. We couldn’t get in until 2.30pm, but that was okay. Unfortunately, for the top-dollar price we paid, the apartment was absolutely filthy. We took photos and had to buy cleaning products to scrub the shower, which was covered in grime, along with the sink and toilet. There was mould and filth above the kitchen area that looked like it had never been wiped down. Very disappointing. We won’t stay here again.

Walking distance to both the shops and beach, with clean, modern accommodation and a really cool vibe. The linen and crockery were nice, and the beds were comfortable. Booking was smooth and fuss-free thanks to easy communication with the owners. The Sweet (Good) Life indeed :) We’ll stay again :)

The super king bed was easily the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. We stayed two nights in the spotless, well-appointed studio. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from town and not far from the beach. The shower was excellent, and the heat pump kept us warm.

This was our third visit, and it was just as relaxing as the first with our young family. The fresh, inviting decor and comfortable bed and pillows made for a lovely stay. The shower had good pressure, and we could easily park our large ute in the unit 4 space. If you have a big car, reverse in and it’s easy to drive back out. The location is ideal, an easy walk to town and the beach for little legs. Thanks to the owners for always replying promptly to our questions. We’ll be back 👌👍
