The Town Basin and CBD are close by, with a good choice of restaurants nearby. I really enjoyed my two nights here and would happily return. For the price, the room and available services were a high standard. My room was very comfortable, with a high standard en suite and a shower with great pressure. The shared lounge across the hall was well equipped for self catering, including a top notch selection of coffees.

The room was nice, centrally located and great value. The service was what really stood out. I had to check out of my other hotel at 10:00 a.m., so I emailed to ask if I could leave my bag during the day. Later I called, and the guy said sure, then added that my room was already ready. When I checked my email, I saw he’d already replied there too. At the door, he’d also left a note with the check in instructions he’d sent by email. I asked one question and got the answer three times. That’s exceptional service. Two big thumbs up, and if I had a third, I’d give it three.

It’s about a three minute walk to Whangarei’s waterfront area. The accommodation was great, with a clean room, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The shower had good water pressure. I’d definitely go back.

The owners were friendly and really helpful, and I enjoyed using the shared kitchen and lounge. It’s a great base for seeing Whangarei. I’ll come again!
