Stonehaven Motel was a great place to begin our first trip to New Zealand. Dave arranged our late check-in and was kind, friendly, and great to talk with, as well as a helpful source of information. The location between Auckland and Cape Reinga, about an hour south of Paihia and the Bay of Islands, worked well for day trips. After our daily outings, tea and coffee were ready for us. Our room was spacious and clean, with eateries and a grocery shop within walking distance.

The service was prompt and accommodating, and the location was perfect, close to town and central for getting around. The rooms were lovely and clean, with everything we needed for a couple of nights away. We’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

The operator is friendly, and the location is handy and fairly quiet. The room feels tired and smells a little musty. What frustrates me most is the weak internet signal, which doesn’t quite reach the bedroom. That’s not acceptable.
