Jabal Hatt Rest-house

We were left stranded at midnight after the owner canceled our Expedia booking at the last minute. There were 20 of us, including 13 children and babies under 2, and no alternative was offered. It seems the owner chose a higher-paying booking instead of honoring ours. I found the whole thing heartless and dishonest, and wouldn't rely on this place.

The rooms and service were the strongest parts: the wooden huts were clean and neat, and the mattress was very comfortable. The restaurant was also very good, though it isn't run by the property owner, so meals aren't included in the package. There isn't much else to enjoy outside. The pool was dirty and cold, and in a place this chilly it really ought to be temperature-controlled. The showers were in very poor condition too. No children's play area or grassy space to walk around, either. People come to a lovely cool mountain setting for more than staying indoors, and the facilities they do have should at least work.

We paid in advance through Expedia, but our booking was canceled without any notice. The management didn't support us or even try to find another option, which was really disappointing. It was the worst experience we'd had.

The restaurant food was genuinely tasty, and the staff were friendly and professional. With the lovely weather, peaceful atmosphere, and very reasonable prices, it's a great spot to get away from the noise for a while. Just know that water, snacks, and meals aren't complimentary. You can eat at the restaurant, but pay separately. A quiet, relaxing getaway that I'd recommend.
